The purpose of having mentors is to provide disadvantaged children with caring adult role models who befriend students and spend quality time with them. Ranger Good Works mentors incorporate tutoring and academic enrichment activities that support student achievement in the classroom and help students meet the proficiencies required by Dillard Elementary School.
Guest speakers are brought into after-school clubs. Ranger Good Works recruits talented, goal-oriented, and successful individuals to inspire students at the schools we serve. Our guest speakers range from women computer technologists to race car drivers!
Presentations for guest speakers could range from sharing professional experience, or showing off talent or special skills (e.g. art, math, science, music, computer coding, cooking, dance, acting, sports-related, or more!).
Volunteers can either donate their time at an event or simply go into a classroom and read with young students.
It takes many helping hands to facilitate programming, funding, volunteers, technology, and communications for the schools we serve. If you are office-oriented and would like to make a difference behind the scenes, contact us to discuss ways you can contribute your time.
