The highlight of our community exposure program is our annual Career City event. The students we serve look forward to this major occasion all year long and start dreaming of what their future holds.
The 12th Annual Career City event showcase was held at Dillard Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Over 95 local companies and organizations, 70 of which have participated for eleven years, along with 200 corporate volunteers, joined together to create an unforgettable experience. Over 600 Dillard Elementary students and 60 students from North Fork Elementary in Pk through 5th grade participated in the festive and fun-filled event that provided exposure to various careers and industries.
The theme of this year’s event was “The Magical Realm of Possibilities” and featured keynote speaker and South Florida native Magic Jack. Magic Jack set the tone for this year’s event by bringing world-class magic, comedy, and mentalism to students. At Career City, students journeyed through the Magical Realm of Possibilities with excitement. They explored various careers and occupations through presentations, live demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on interactive experiences.
A new addition to Career City 2025 was the development of the Career City Passport Student Booklet. The booklet provided an academic component that incorporated reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills and was gifted as a memorable keepsake for students.
We thank all our generous volunteers and corporate sponsors who helped make Career City 2025 a success!
