Ranger Good Works provides students with “life-changing” college tour experiences to promote dreams
The College Tour is essential to inspire students and help in the development of their young minds, instilling the value of higher education and how to attain it.
Program Information
Our Track Record:
In 2016, students from Dillard Elementary visited Florida Atlantic University, where they toured college classes, dined in the campus cafeteria, and fully immersed themselves in the college environment. The experience left a lasting impression and inspired countless students to dream bigger.
Because of its success, the program expanded into a district-wide initiative within Broward County Public Schools, serving 5th-grade students from 10 elementary schools. These students experienced a full three-day, two-night college experience: sleeping in dorms, eating in college cafeterias, attending classes, and participating in a community project that reinforced their learning and connection to service.
What’s Next:
Ranger Good Works is continuing this impactful program at Dillard and North Fork Elementary. Coming in 2025, we’re partnering with local universities to bring back this transformative three-day college experience for our 5th-grade students.
Want to join us in building tomorrow’s college graduates?
To bring this experience to life, we are seeking donations to cover transportation, lodging, meals, and supplies. We’re also seeking volunteers to assist with chaperoning and supporting students during their college experience. Early exposure to college environments can spark ambition and shape future goals. Your support helps give a child their first glimpse of higher education and plants the seed of a lifelong dream.
