Read for the Record 2021 was a thrilling success, as we read Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon. It was Ranger Good Works’ first time back in the classroom to visit our students since the pandemic shutdown. Reading to children in school is always fulfilling. After we #readfortherecord, we created a colorful, 20-foot dragon with old scarves and danced around the classroom together. We then took our dragon for a walk out in the courtyard at Dillard Elementary for all to see. It was great fun! As a result of activities such as #readfortherecord, many students will find reading and literacy activities more enjoyable. Gifts of love last a lifetime, and the memories keep on giving.

Ranger Literacy Night 2018

Literacy Night 2018

Ranger Good Works

Superhero Literacy Night in October 2018 at Dillard Elementary School with our Ranger Good Works volunteer team was a huge success!  We donated more than 1000 books to help build Dillard family home libraries. In addition, the Superheroes handed out a fair amount of candy and masks to make the event a joyous blast! Our Dillard Elementary School students loved the evening. Their generous hugs and the special sparkle in thankful eyes assured all of us that we had made an impact on their lives.

  • Time of the reading event at Dillard Elementary school is from 8:30 am until about 9:30 am
  • Read to Preschool and Kindergarten students

This year’s Read for the Record book is Quackers, by Liz Wong, a delightful story about a kitten who grows up believing he’s a duck, until the day he meets another kitten. What follows is a sweet tale about understanding, acceptance, and learning it is ok to be whoever you want to be.

We look forward to having you join us for our Read For The Record event.
